Help for Jackie part 2.... such a relief!
Hi guys, so officially my father has been allowed to be discharged from the hospital this morning, and hence, be allowed to fly home without the need of an escort team, just this afternoon! Please pray for my my father, my mom and my aunty that they will arrive safely at the destination, so that my father can receive his operation/treatment ASAP. Therefore with that, I shall be able to at least get a short of moment of peace and rest now, and hence I shall call for a 'stop' for the fundraising effort so far. Thanks again for all the telephone call, hospital visit, donation, etc etc, which are really important for our family in such a difficult period for us. No words can describe how grateful I am to everyone that has helped us so much! I will update again later about my father's progress as well as about the status of the funds once everything has been clear to me. Thanks again.

Jackie needs help!
Jackie needs help!
Dear all,
To cut the story short, my father is in the Royal United Hospital, Bath, UK now. He had third stage gastric / stomach cancer, and he had surgery in Malaysia to remove the tumour. Currently he is suppose to be in between his third and fourth chemotherapy session. His condition in Malaysia was fine, however after arriving in UK he started to vomit which lead to his hospitalisation. Recently via a CT scan, it seemed that the cancer may have spread, which may be related to the partial obstruction of his bowel now.
I was only made aware of his cancer story when he arrived in UK about a week ago. Therefore I was really unprepared for everything now, especially emotionally. And may be due to their under-education, my parents did not realise they should have bought medical insurance/health card to cover any possibly incurred medical cost for they stay in UK.
I have planned to get my father the earliest flight back to Malaysia, unfortunately based on his current condition, the doctor/consultant does not allow him to fly without medical assistance. I currently need to gather £16000 by 9 July 2013 to pay for the escort company to enable me send him home safely.
As a foreign visitor, a full night in the hospital will cost 372 pounds. Plus, there are a few tests yet to be done and some may cost up to 500 pounds.
I have spoken to the Malaysian Consulate based in UK as well, unfortunately they cannot be of much help, especially financially.
As a government scholar from not a very wealthy family, his medical cost is my main concern now. I myself do have some savings it will not be enough to cover for his eventual medical bills (and perhaps, cost for emergency flight). Yet a life is more important than anything else.
While following my father's daily condition closely beside his bed, the only thing that I can do now is to seek extra source of funding to cover his probable medical expenses, as much as possible. Every contribution, no matter how small, will really count now.
At the same time, I will be greatly appreciative if you are able to recommend me any other possible extra sources of funding/connection/help to support me/my family in such a difficult period for us. E.G. if anyone is able to research for me the cheapest escort service available from London to Kuala Lumpur / Kota Kinabalu.
Thank you so much,
Jackie

A good article to share 2

A good article to share
http://akirastory.com/2011/05/15/why-i-regret-getting-straight-a1-in-spm/
I nearly killed myself in high school for getting a straight A1 in high school. I nearly committed suicide just because of the stress and conflicts I had to go through to secure 16 A1 in SPM. Yeah, I got myself a 16A1 recognition. I was awarded a scholarship from JPA, and is currently studying in Intec and is going to further my study in US. However, it is because of this education experience and the people that I meet around in Intec that I gradually opened my eyes and have a clearer view on what I truly lost throughout the struggle to acquire straight 16A1 in SPM.
1. I lost friends and family
In the end you will find that friends and family are things that you can’t replaced with money and fame. The high school memories you spent with your family and friends are valuable cause these are memories that you created when you were still a teen, and you will never ever had a second chance to be a teen again. Much of my high school time were spent in studying and tuition. In the end, when I graduated from my high school, or even my current college, I was wondering: where are my memories?
2. Lack of sleep.
This is really true. When people keep looking at you shining glamorously as the “16A1″, you yourself know the best that it was paid with real hard works. Unless you are a genius, a good result has to be achieved through hard work; it’s the absolute. During the SPM I had a serious sleep deprivation and I forced myself to revise my works starting from 3 a.m. I have an average 3 hours of tuition per day, and subtracting my school time which is 7 hours per day, I had only 14 hours to do all my other things. Homework is directly proportional to the number of subjects that you took, so does the time you need to spend for revision. With the extra curricular activities coming into the schedule, my average sleeping time per day is 3-5 hours.
3. When A1 becomes just the average.
You will have no idea how easy it is to achieve A1 in SPM. One of my friends who almost did not study his Sejarah yet can still get an A2 in his SPM. The number of students having straight A1 is overflowing throughout the Malaysia, and you might be thinking just like me: having more A1 will make you stand out among your peers more. I can tell you the truth that, YES, but TEMPORARILY. When you go to college you will find out that there are more students who are BETTER than you even if their SPM has a Fail in Moral or C in Bahasa or D in Physics. They are very specialized in subjects that they truly love. They are very passionate in their own interested subject. Only when you are in the college, you will realize that, despite all the large numbers of A1 that you have in your hand, you are just AVERAGE.
4. Mediocre talents.
High school is supposed to be a place where you can try out new things in your life, discover what you are loving or passionate in, and nurture these discovered traits. It is a protected area where you are allowed to explore, make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. It is the foundation for you to start discovering who you are and what you are good at. When I am at college, A LOT of my friends have their own talents. They play musical instruments; they take stunning pictures, they are good at socializing, things that you can’t learn if you are just confining yourself surrounded with books and books in your own room.
5. You forgot what you have learnt
I can’t denied that it is a good way for me to expose to things that I might not have chance to study, for instance economic and commerce study. It is a really great experience to learn things beyond your stream. But when I am in college I forgot almost most of the things that I have learnt in high school. If you calculate it you find that it isn’t really a good deal compared to what you had lost. The reason is that SPM is so examination-based that you, in spite of how passionate you are in your subject, will subconsciously study for the exam. With this attitude you tend to forget what you have learnt the moment the exam is over. I am still passionate in business study, but how many OSKIC you can join when you need to focus on 16 subjects and promise to your teachers that you can get them all A1?
6. All and all, nobody really cares.
Wake up! Nobody cares how many A1 you will have in your certs. JPA or Bank Nengara or Petronas might have a glimpse on it, but in the end, nobody will be amazed by your certs. Ask your future boss and he won’t really care a shit about it. It will be a past. In the end it is what who you are that shines to the others: your characters, your personality, your experience! A1 is not worth the price if you lost all these.
But wait! I need straight A1 to get scholarship!
It could be true. Some families are in dire needs to have a scholarship to provide their children a tertiary education. But trust me, JPA is not the only way to have the scholarship. Opportunities are everywhere. If you have the character, the personality, the experience and the courage to try things out and explore the possibilities that you can have beyond JPA and SPM, you will realize that, you can still success without a scholarship. I know friends who can get admitted to top university in US without a JPA scholarship (cause he doesn’t have straight A1 in his SPM).
So now, what should I do?
Nothing is too late. As for me, I realized this very truth when I am exposed to more people around me. I began to pick up interests and nurture them. I became more extrovert and socialize more when I am in college. I am not afraid to try things new, even if it means things that are embarrased. I read more as compared to my high school time. I am not saying that study is not important; I am just saying that knowing that what you really want in your life and who you are eventually is so much more important than just the numbers of A1 in your certs. (now they are having A+ instead of A1, but it’s still the same principle). Look further, my friends. My result is truly average now, but hey! The points and prides in my resume have tripled.

this fulfill my title of my blog
When we have something, we are afraid of losing it.
When we don't have something, we are afraid we won't get it.
The anxiety of gain and loss causes misery in our life.

21 years ago, of coz, it is "Mum's suffering day", nothing much to enjoy, jz tat every1 of us, have a day where our mum endure lots of pain to sqeeze us out. I wont feel d pain for d rest of my life, but i know tat process itself is life-threatening process. It is a chance of fate too to have both parties survive, especially up till now.

-Am I a good cousin?
-Am I a good friend?

believe
He no longer wanna speak with me. I dunno wat went wrong. Even not s friend, at least as a jiran.
Really cant conc on my studies nowadays.
Indeed, I do realise my own mistakes, my own dosa after locking myself in d room. I really hope to tebus, if only there is opportunity. I cant do much, i ll do watever wat I can. It is all about 2 way thing. i cant just tepuk sebelah tangan.
anyway, if this is the test, i ll take it. I believe tat if i m sincere enuff, no kepentingan peribadi, n if god knows i deserve it, maybe a good friend whom I know for 3 years, a friend who helped me a lot in my a level time, a smile tat I will never forget, suka n duka. Of coz, life goes on for him, w/o me, but is it a waste to have such a long struggle to end tat way? I feel wasted.
One lesson i learn: I do admit tat human tend to remember d bad thing tat happen to them n forget d good side of ppl. at least thru my locking myself in d room, i start to c a good point of ppl.... no1 is borned a devil n no1 deserved to b dipandang hina jz bcaz of some of his condition.
I know i go against d majority, to defend a minority, to stand with wat i believe. it makes me rugi, i know. bcaz i dont think i gain loss from both sides in d end, bt thx for a friend who convince me of ULTIMATE FAIRNESS. i do regret not being a pak turut, a "yes sir", maybe i wont suffer like this, but i know i defended a minority, which no1 cares much. Alto not being appreciated in d end(I do it not to get appreciation anyway, if i want to get appreciation, y i cant do it in front of ppl who award d appreciation in 1st place?), if time goez back again, i ll definitely do d same, bcaz i know i do d right thing.
wateve future holds, being ignored further, he ll still be my friend, regardless wat others say.

live in harmony, i tot is very easy, but i m wrong
couldnt believe one can hate a person for a long time, alto d person keep approaching, anything dendam lama say out loud, bt end up........not tired meh? N to create harmony needs 2 parties, a party initiate n another party jz dont bother is useless, regardless how much effort one party gives.

game over?
I am a simple person with simple need. Live harmoneous, tat's all. I do admit lots of improvement, but a slight change in a "Timing syarat" which is rejected can change everything. I make too much demand? With same momentum i tot it is of right track for kebaikan bersama bt i m expecting kucing bertanduk? To b fair, I m ready to fulfill any syarat too.regardless of wat happen tomorrow, hidup hanya sementara, entah esok lusa, i ll never forget to say thank u for d improvement, sincerely, swearly.
In d end, i m being judged from a 2 hour interview performance instead of wat i tolerate, compromise things tat contributely silently without even a single rungutan, menunjuk2(not even d intention). God knows bt wat is d use now?
All d predictions tat i will face a lot of problems including being kicked out in my academic life is getting closer n closer.

Tuhan, batalkan niat yg bersifat kepentingan peribadi
Jika apa yang saya lakukan ialah demi kepentingan peribadi/individu, Tuhan, tolong batalkan segala usahaku dan berharap bahawa ianya menemui kegagalan.
